An integer which is multiple of number two(2) is called even number. Even numbers are either positive or negative,as even number are types of integers.

This answer was edited.Any number that can be exactly divided by 2 is called as an even number. Even numbers always end up with the last digit as 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. Some examples of even numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16.

To find the set of even natural numbers, we use 2N where N is any natural number.

Addition and subtraction of an even numbers

Addition and subtraction follows these rules:

here the symbol ‘±’ mean either addition or subtraction.

even ± even = even

even ± odd = odd

odd ± odd = even

Any number multiplied with an even number will result in an even number. For example:

0N, 2N, 4N, 6N, … (where N is any natural number)
